Recently, triathlete Rodney Ward was hammering up a hill when another racer (named Fabrice) wearing his Blazeman jersey quietly passed by. He remembered the Foundation's name from seeing Jon's story on TV. He also thought of a family friend who was diagnosed, and recently passed away, from ALS. That moment was his call to race for something bigger than himself. So, he called his twin Brother Bradley, an endurance athlete himself, and the two talked about how they could get involved.
They thought of a unique way to help the Foundation raise awareness and funds for its mission. You see, Bradley is a founder of a sports product company headquartered in Little Rock, Arkansas. Gelrilla, LLC is a sports products company specializing in the development of equipment designed to enhance enjoyment and performance in endurance and competitive activities. Gelrilla, LLC pioneered the development of the market's first mounting platform for securing, transporting and tearing energy gel packs on a bicycle with their pilot product Gelrilla Grip™.
The company now offers a customized Gelrilla Grip Pro Elite product branded with the WaronALS logo. Click here to learn more and get you own! Significant proceeds from the sales will go to benefit the Foundation. But that's not all-more than 3,000 of these will be given to every Ironman competitor in the 2010 event in New Orleans, the brothers' "home town race." After that race, these 3,000 racers will go their separate 3,000 ways. We are glad we can help carry the Blazeman's story to all of those places," said Rodney.
Brad added, "...someone's gotta grab that torch and run with it...everyone will carry it in the best way they know how."
Thanks Kevin for your support as always...you are always there for us...
